DAVE Saunders and Harry Skinner formed The Producers in 1990 and quickly became one of the most popular blues outfits in the country, winning the ‘Blues Band of the Year’ award 4 times and releasing 7 CD albums, one of which ‘Ain’t no Love in the World’ was nominated for the ‘Best Blues Album’ award.
Popularity amongst blues fans for The Producers is very strong and national tours sell out as standard. The Producers were among the first to feature an acoustic set in their show which led to the whole acoustic set becoming almost ‘de rigueur’ with every band, blues or otherwise, following The Producers lead.
The Producers are regularly asked to headline Europe’s best blues festivals to include the Cognac Blues Festival in France, Colne, Burnley, Stanley Blues, Templebar Dublin, Cork, Farnham, North Wales Blues Festival plus many more. At the Cognac Blues Festival, they were joined onstage by headliner Ray Charles’ brass section and, memorably, his ‘Raelets’ shimmying and dancing in front of them!
