WHO SAID COGNAC BOTTLES ARE BORING TO LOOK AT: CHECK HENNESSY’S CREATIVE ART AND DESIGNS

Hennessy V.S brought together music and visual art with their project, Blending of Art. Five music acts teamed up with five visual artists/graphic designers to design new Henny bottles. ?uestlove and Q-Tip were appointed as the 2010 Hennessy Artistry curators, which saw Q-Tip working with visual artist Spaceknuckle and ?uestlove teamed up with Aerosyn-Lex Mestrovic. Their other musical contemporaries were A-Trak who worked with Dust La Rock,Kid Sister who worked with Fafi and Steve Aoki who was paired with Laundry.

The five bottle designs were revealed at last month’s Hennessy Artistry Halo event in New York City, which featured performances from The RootsQ-TipErykah Badu and Mary J Blige (watch the performances, which were streamed live here).

The project is visually stunning. It’s interesting that many alcohol companies seem keen to sponsor projects which collaborate or involve hip hop culture (and definitely a greater conversation for a different blog post).

The bottle designs aren’t available to buy, however, a few will be produced to auction for charity. From left to right below are the bottle designs by Steve Aoki and Laundry, Q-Tip and Spaceknuckle, ?uestlove and Aerosyn-Lex Mestrovic, A-Trak and Dust La Rock and Kid Sister and Fafi.

Check out the Hennessy Blending The Art website for more on the project.
